HAB Partners with Culinary Nutrition Experts Sparking New Uses for Avocados

Love One Today and FCP logos

Over the past two decades, per-capita consumption of fresh avocados in the U.S. has soared by 260%, proving what we in the industry already know—America is an avocado nation. As demand continues to grow, the Hass Avocado Board (HAB) is focused on keeping that momentum strong by investing in innovative ways to inspire consumption beyond the fan favorite avocado toast.

To do so, through its Avocados – Love One Today® program HAB partnered with the Food & Culinary Professionals (FCP) dietetic practice group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, to spark a new wave of avocado innovation. From soups to frozen yogurt bark, these recipes keep avocados relevant across seasons.

The collaboration challenged more than 1,600 registered dietitians to think beyond guac and toast. The top five recipes spotlight avocado’s unmatched versatility:

Javacado Frozen Mocha

A barista-worthy blend of coffee and avocado with no added sugar.

Key Lime Pie Avocado Frozen Yogurt Bark

A refreshing, no-bake treat mixing avocado, Greek yogurt, and lime.

Avocado Gnocchi with Creamy Cilantro Lime Sauce

A modern spin on classic gnocchi that swaps potatoes for mashed avocado.

Street Corn-Style Soup

A hearty, one-pot meal combining avocado, white beans, and corn.

Miso-Marinated Salad with Whipped Avocado Dressing

An umami-packed dish elevated by a creamy avocado-citrus dressing.

While a recent survey found that most Americans (93%) understand the importance of good nutrition, only half maintain healthy eating habits regularly. HAB’s ongoing investment in nutrition education is helping close the gap between awareness and action. By showcasing avocados in new ways, these efforts reinforce the fruit’s relevance in everyday eating.
