Be Where Momentum Lives
The Hass Avocado Board (HAB) has formally partnered with Farm Journal and is working closely with their team to develop The Avocado Conference. As part of our new strategic plan focused on the growth and strengthening of the sector, HAB is collaborating with The Packer, the leading media outlet for analysis and reporting on the agri-food sector in the United States.
The Avocado Conference will be the premier congress for the avocado industry in the U.S. and will be held November 18-20, 2026, at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront in San Diego, California. The event will bring together producers, exporters, importers, marketers, and leaders of the sector in a strategic forum focused mainly on commercial issues, including supply and demand, volume planning, consumption growth, and retail landscape.
In addition to partnering with a well-known media company, we have designed a framework with USDA’s approval, under which Farm Journal has agreed to assume the financial risk necessary to deliver a successful conference and exhibit for the industry.

Speaking of momentum:
- A new generation of leaders graduated from the Hass Avocado Board (HAB) Board Leadership Development (BOLD) program in March, with specialized training and real-world experience that ensures a stronger future for the industry.
- The 2025-2026 curriculum kept its foundation deep dive into the rules of governance and financial and fiduciary responsibilities of board members at the University of California, Davis, and a trip to Washington, D.C. to meet with USDA leadership and members of Congress representing California’s avocado-growing regions. The graduates of the program are ready to contribute more deeply within the avocado industry.
- As the 2025-2026 class is graduating, we are pleased at HAB to bring the industry together to prioritize identifying, motivating and equipping the next generation of BOLD leaders for the 2026-2027 incoming class. We will provide more information as the class forms and begins its journey to becoming leaders in the industry.
